Favorites | 5 Trends To Spice Up Your Easter Wardrobe!

If you’re anything like me, then you’ve probably spent the Winter season wearing black and grey outfits. But come March, I suddenly felt the need to add some color to spice things up a bit. Suddenly I’m wearing emerald tops, turquoise ballerinas, and doing something I’ve never done- painting my nails orange!

With Spring in full bloom and Easter Sunday merely 2 days away, I though it would be fun to share some trends that can make your wardrobe colorful and fun to welcome the sunny days ahead. Read on to find out more.

From painting Easter eggs to welcoming baby chicks into your home this holiday, to me Easter is all about colors. So why not experiment with a bright hue like yellow? Take note from Jennifer Lawrence who flaunts her figure in a mustard peplum number or get comfy in a chunky sweater like Jessica Alba’s and pair it with distressed jeans for a Saturday afternoon in the sun. If you’re heading to a fancy event, go for a bright yellow dress with sequins all over just like Vanessa Hudgens did for her appearance on the Late Show with Dave Letterman.

Stripes are a great trend to explore this Spring. Rachel McAdams is the best example of how to master this look as she wears 4 different shades of blue in one dress that are all on trend. Rachel completes her look with two toned pumps and a white trench coat. You can still be fashionable in black, just pick a white and black striped dress and pair it with colorful pumps like Jamie Chung did at a Land Rover event.

I’m not really big on the floral thing, but it’s everywhere these days I might just try it. Take a look at Jenna Dewan Tatum who is casual chic in a floral maxi number; the mummy to be’s dress is mostly grey, but pops with shades of red and orange here and there. You can also add a jean jacket if it gets chilly at night. Another way to experiment with the floral trend is to go for a darker mini that pops with bright little flowers here and there like Reese Witherspoon’s Madewell dress.

White is everywhere this year! And what’s better than white? Try pairing it with lace or even sheer panels for a fresh Summer look. Camilla Alves wears a dress she designed herself for INC that’s covered with lace all over, while supermodel Miranda Kerr flaunts her sculpted body in a white top with sheer panels around the bust and a white skirt with patterned cutouts all over the hem area. If you’re not a fan of an all-white outfit, then pick a white handbag like Miranda’s (hers is Prada) that goes with different pieces of your wardrobe for the coming season.

White Lace

Accessories, Accessories, Accessories!

One of the best ways of easing yourself into Easter/Spring is investing in some bright accessories. Pick out yellow pumps like Beyonce’s, or yellow sunnies for a day out like Taylor Swift. If you’re in for a splurge, check out Khloe Kardashian’s yellow Hermes Birkin Bag- who wouldn’t want to have that stunning handbag no matter what season is coming!

Wishing you all a great LONG weekend! And a very Happy Easter to everyone :)

Fashion Fails | B*itch Stole my Wedding Dress!

I was invited to a wedding in the Summer of 2012: everything was set; the flowers were fresh, the photographers were snapping pictures of the arriving guests, and the groom was standing at the altar impatiently waiting for his bride to arrive. And there she was, making a grand entrance in a long ruffled off-white, pearl strapped, and embellished dress… I stood up to watch her walk down the aisle, but no one else did. Weird- I thought to myself. Well it turned out Ms. big sparkly white dress WAS NOT the bride!  She was a guest just like I was, and much worse, she was the bride’s cousin!
I was beyond furious. How could she just walk in like that in a whole lot of dress and not care that she’s stealing the bride’s thunder?

I know that getting invited to a wedding is a huge deal for us girls; we want to have the perfect dress and the sexiest sky-high stilettos. Weeks ahead, we plan different hairstyles experiment with different shades of lipstick, and endlessy wonder if we should go for a red or French mani. We may get so caught up in our own plans that we forget that this is the bride’s day. She’s had it planned down to the color of the napkins. Shes been perfecting every last little detail for months, years, and maybe since she was old enough to have her first imaginary tea party.

So please, the next time you’re invited to a wedding, remember that this day is the bride’s time to shine. You can shine too, just do it in one of 36 colors other than white!
