Breath-taking views? Check! Delicious bites and yummy cocktails? Check! Stunning international models? Check! (obviously) Flawless K-Lynn lingerie and swimwear? There’s no doubt about it!
Last Thursday, I attended an amazing fashion show thrown by Square, the chill out lounge located at the Mövenpick Hotel Beirut in collaboration with K-Lynn lingerie. The models who strutted the catwalk are currently in Lebanon competing for the Miss World Next Top Model Title.
Bright yellows, neon pinks, gorgeous greens, mixed prints, and classic black and white made a big statement, as vibrant colors dominated the Summer swimwear.
Next came lingerie, with bright colors also making an appearance. The collection featured a variety of lace designs, corsets, and sexy robes. The best was left for the grand finale as a handful of models paraded Square wearing bridal lingerie in angelic white.
On Saturday, I attended an event thrown by Hackett London at the boutique’s branch in ABC Dbayeh. The details were sketchy at the beginning, but it all started becoming clear when 6 men dressed in Hackett’s impeccable grey suits (and top hats to add a little British flair) were spotted roaming ABC carrying branded shopping bags and newspapers.
The Hackett Gents (as they were referred to by the brand) toured most of the mall’s floors, often stopping to take pictures with admiring fans. They also took some time to have afternoon tea at Cafe La Flor and even caught a screening of The Great Gatsby .
Check out the pictures below for more on this very fun and interactive flashmob that Hackett put together! It’s so refreshing to witness such ideas being executed by high-end brands- here’s to more!
Virgin Radio Lebanon was finally launched yesterday and to celebrate this milestone, the people behind it threw a super-fun launch party at White Beirut. Positioned as the home for 10 hits in a row, Virgin Radio promises 10 interrupted commercial-free songs that is sure to make listeners (including me) tune in frequently.
The event attracted a large crowd from the advertising and media industry and was mostly MCed by Anthony Salemeh, a Lebanese Australian expat who will be presenting a daily morning show. Anthony introduced the majority of the team including Frankie- who will be co-hosting the morning show, as well as DJ Kris Fade. The radio’s GM, Naji Cherabieh took the stage next and thanked all the parties involved in launching Virgin Radio and discussed the station’s major strengths that include being the only radio that plays commercial music on the weekends (YAY!).
Shortly after, Sir Richard Branson took the stage and charmed the attendees with his friendliness and laid back attitude. Sir Richard said that he was pleased to be back in Lebanon (he was last here around 15 years ago when the first Virgin Megastore was launched in DT). to launch Virgin Radio and was looking forward to part-take in the evening’s festivities.
It was a great night at White; from the great music, to the many dance performances, to the man of the hour Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Radio is poised to be a huge success!
To tune in, simply turn your radio to 89.5, Virgin Radio Lebanon- your home of 10 hits in a row!
Much thanks to Rachel for making me her plus 1 for the night
Over 8 years ago, one of my favorite shopping destinations – Miss Selfridge- closed its doors in Beirut. As young teenagers, my friends and I would wait for Saturday afternoons to shop the latest looks to wear on our highly anticipated “no school uniform” days. As for my mum, well only God knows how many hours she had to wait in the changing rooms for me to choose the items I wanted to purchase.
So I guess you can imagine how super excited I was when I found out that Miss Selfridge was re-opening in Beirut (Thank you Alshaya!) at the Beirut City Centre.
I attended the opening on Saturday afternoon and upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly hostess who briefly showed me around and told me what to expect from the event. First up, the super fun fake eyelash counter where many ladies- including U Magazine’s senior editor Dalia Saad were putting on faux lashes. The makeup artist invited me to sit on a high stool facing a mirror, and within seconds I had myself a pair of sexy long long lashes! Next, a photographer took a picture of me standing in front of a backdrop of colored balloons and I got the hard copy of the image a few minutes later.
As for the fashion, well it’s full-on Summer at Miss Selfridge! Whites, salmons, and light blues dominate the collection with flirty little dresses and glamorous evening gowns displayed all over the store. While sipping a refreshing glass of fresh lemonade that was being passed around, I noticed a petite’s section (I’m sure many petite sized ladies will love this) that has a variety of fashionable and trendy Spring outfits.
As for my first purchase, well I think I found my favorite Summer accessory with an amazing necklace from the “Diva” collection with a heavily pearled collar and long gold chains worn over the shoulders. While checking out, I was happily surprised to get a makeup bag as a gift for my purchase.
Check out all the Spring/Summer Fashion at Miss Selfridge at the Beirut City Centre- it will sure be one of my new go-to places this season!

Under the auspices of H.E.M. of Tourism, Fady Abboud, DAMAC Luxury Interiors launched the new Versace Home boutique in Saifi last night.
The glamorous affair attracted Lebanon’s elite crowd including Miss Lebanon 2013 Rina Chibany, Vivianne Eddé, Papou Lahoud, members of the Lebanese media, as well as the Versace Home team, who flew in from Italy to attend the event.
The boutique houses items designed specifically by Versace Home to add a more luxurious touch to all home items; from precious china to chairs and tables, sofas, and even beds, the entire collection is intricately and carefully designed. The colors add a touch of freshness while maintaining the signature Versace class in every item, which makes us feel like the pieces should belong in an art gallery.
During the event, I had an amazing chance to meet and have a quick chat with Ms. Vanya Krasteva, Interior Designer at Versace Home Italy. On her third visit to Beirut, Vanya told me that Versace is keen on putting out a new home collection every year. Some of her clients wait for new items on a yearly basis to add to their treasured collections. The designs are basically a mixture of class and elegance with fresh pops of color here and there, along with the legendary Versace logo. Vanya is very excited about the launch of the boutique in Lebanon as it is a great opportunity to push the collection further in the Middle East and among clients who would love to own and display these prized possessions in their own homes.
The DAMAC Tower already under construction in Downtown Beirut will have its interiors designed by Versace Home and it is sure to be amazing!
The Versace Home Boutique is located on George Haddad St., Saifi, Downtown Beirut.
